Damn my understanding was that Wyllis was taken control of by the present day Bran Warg and shown the future and therefore altering the past and then future.

Something for sure - unless Bran gets immediately killed (or snatched) in the next episode, or someone major is going to show up and rescue - that they have not set up to rescue him. It's either that, or Bran is able to now have more power now that the head Warg is gone... whom also said that Bran would be taking over for him.

In the book there is a character named "Cold-Hands" that helps Sam escape the north and helps Bran get to the cave of the Greenseer. One of the theories is that Cold-Hands is Benjen Stark. Although they haven't used him yet in the series, perhaps they bring him in to "save" Bran now?

Ok - my theory on Bran and Hodor:
'The Ink is dry' comment holds true. What we see when Bran wargs into Hodor in the past and present at the same time, young Hodor witnesses his death. This is all too much to handle, and leaves him in this state. Many have said Bran cannot change the past - I agree. What we are seeing is the past event and the future effect come together at a critical point. We know that Bran can be felt based on his desire to communicate with 'Young' Ned earlier this season. If he concentrates hard enough - he can warg in the past. This episode is a telling (or revealing) to Bran how powerful he can be as the three eyed Raven. Some have even said Bran causes the king to go mad. The King was noted as saying 'Burn them all' in the book, and this might have been Bran trying to warn him of the White Walkers pending emergence. |

I think the 3 Eyed Raven just meant that the ink was dry on his will. He knew what was coming.

I'm thinking either:
1. Bran snaps after seeing Hodor shredded and, realizing that his puss self keeps f'ing over those around him, awakens & uses (key operative word) whatever power within him exists thereby proving once and for all that he hasn't been 6 seasons worth of dead weight. 2. GRRM finally kills off what has thus far been a waste of a character w/ supposedly awesome potential (i.e. Bran). 3. Coldhands shows up; whether or not Meera ditches Bran matters not in this case. If Coldhands shows up, he also better not be destroyed in the same episode or be as lame as Bran. 4. Zombie Mountain rides in on Dany's dragons, w/ Dany in tow on over his shoulder, to fight the wights because he got bored in Kinds Landing and just wanted to f**k some sh*t up. Bonus if a drunk Tyrion were to tag along solely to throw drunken insults at the White Walkers.

Maybe not action filled, but pivotal things happened
- We find out that Bran gets away (Hodor must've held that door for some time) - We find out that Bran gets a "download" of the history of the world and is now the 3-eyed raven - Re-introduction of Uncle Benjen - Tomen and Mareary totally burn their families and declare they are going to reunite the 7 kingdoms - Walder Frey is scheming again for expansion - Arya is no longer nobody, retreives the Needle and will be on her way soon to presumably payback some Stark family debt - Danaerys and Drogon reunite and she finally gets back to talking about taking Kings Landing Although there were no "are you f'n kidding me" moments in this episode, the biggest thing is one unspoken. We now have armies building/built on all sides and we will see the cycle of more true "games of thrones" with massive wars happening as winter sets in. I feel they've returned to their roots of season 1 and 2 in this episode, through 2+ seasons of setup. |
