Back in 2000, it cost me $15.39 per MINUTE to run my car in competition...NOT including car/insurance payments! The smiles per minute (SPM) were worth it at the time driving a nationally-competitive car at major events, but as I approach old age I wish that younger me would have invested all of that money into a retirement account and not blown it on rubber and trophy futures.....

You had to turn a physical key in an actual ignition tumbler?

I think that counts as exercise!

I'm from the school that loves pineapple, particularly a grilled pineapple slice + avacado on a BBQ bacon cheeseburger, so I think it's perfectly fine and tasty to have on pizza.

If there's a Round Table near you, try the Maui Zaui. Add sausage / pepperoni if you must, but it's pretty fuckin bomb imo.

Don't get me started on the double filtered water bubbler. The cat is getting filtered water from the faucet and getting filtered again by the bubbler. Sometimes I believe my cat's drinking water is cleaner than what most people drink.

I feel your pain. My 2014 was over $20K in tires and consumables. If I remember correctly, 2017 was over $36K in car repairs, consumables and maintenance.

Now, get off your lawn!!!

Does 93 come from the sky, like rain??? We don't have nothing like that in the Golden State of California. It seems this is like snipes, and steelhead.

There used to be a station that had "race gas 104" for about $15/gallon. I filled up my motorcycle a few times, but the mechanic told me I wasn't jetted for that kind of heat as he was trying to put things back together (not literally)

It's much cheaper if you buy it at the track, relatively speaking. Definitely wasn't $15 / gallon last time I was at Thunderhill. I think it was like $5.50 or so (when "normal" premium was like $3.80).

Edit - hey, there's another huge first-first world problem. California gas prices. I've seen it hit $5.30 / gallon for 87 unleaded regular here in the bay area. Currently it's like $3.65 for 87 octane.

Edit #2 : Also, high as fuck taxes. First, they tax your income. Then they add tax to your registration - and sales tax for buying the car to begin with. Then there's a gas tax. And you pay for the gas and registration with your post-tax income to begin with. Talk about triple-dipping. Get your fucking greasy fingers out of my paycheck.

I realize that tomato is a "fruit" but I don't see many people making peanut butter and ketchup sandwich.

You know that gas tax is added BEFORE the sales tax is applied, right????

Sales tax for the car + gas tax at the pump is what I meant.

Gas tax results in higher price at the pump. Sales tax for purchasing the car is separate.

Let me see if I can translate that into your first world problem: having to put up with the winter beater so that the other cars in the stable remain pristine. I have a solution: get a nice car that you don't care about! You're welcome.

Or you could just move somewhere that doesn't snow. Like the bay area.

First snow/salt then rain. Can you take me steelhead fishing on the bay too?
