Yeah, that was nuts. It seemed like he just through the kick hoping it would land. And boy did it!

I am sorry boys but, yes GSP is good real good but so is silva they are both amazing fighters gsp's wrestling is not better then spider if he doesn't sprawl he will go to full guard and submit you.
Dana already has had a conversation with GSP to fight spider silva all GSP has asked for is a lot of time so he can bulk up ! The great thing about both guys is that their preparation is amazingly on point, and their kicks and punches are not waists of energy they all usually land on target. I can't wait hope it happens silva has said in his post fight comments that he wants to stay in the middle weight so GSP will have to move up, therefor Dana had the discussion with GSP.

Honestly, I don't care for the GSP talk about putting on weight the right way, etc. before he goes up. That is BS, and I assume it was only because Dana White told both of them to cool it on the talk of fighting. There is starting to be too much clamor now for the fight and even Dana has admitted it will eventually happen. I would bet it will be after GSP beats Shields, though I would imagine Silva would fight again in the meantime may Okami.... I think GSP will win because of his defensive skill and his wrestling. He will not get caught in a triangle like Sonnen, and he will not get kicked in the face like Vitor. Though impressive, that fight last night was assinine. That shyt doesn't happen, and I bet Vitor is embarrassed as hell this morning for being so careless. I am also looking forward to somebody making GSP fight, instead of this BS he has done the last few fights. There is no reason in the world he should not have finished Alves, Hardy, or Kos. He plays it safe and Silva will not let him do that. |

Whats more impressive about the kick is that Silva did not really even put much into the kick. He wasnt turning his hips or really generating much force from his hips; he just threw it up there and knocked him out. When Silva WANTS to fight, he is hard to beat. But you could see for the first minute of the fight, it was the same shit as before with him just dancing around and starting to act a fool. I thought we were going to get a repeat of the Sonnen-Silva 5 round fight where he just really laid there til the end.
GSP vs Silva is very interesting but not sure what they will do with the weight issue. It might be a catch-weight so that neither one of them loses his belt. BTW, Yahoo is reporting that STEVEN SEAGAL helped him with that kick. Yes, THAT STEVEN SEAGAL!!!! Steven Seagal helped Anderson Silva with KO front kick By Maggie Hendricks Action film star Steven Seagal accompanied UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva to the Octagon at UFC 126 on Saturday night before Silva knocked Vitor Belfort out with a highlight-reel front kick. Seagal was not just there for star power. According to Silva, he learned the kick from Seagal. "Steven Seagal helped me perfect that kick. That was a kick we were working on before I stepped in," Silva said through a translator at the post-fight press conference. "This was a kick that I trained a lot." Seagal is known for the movies "Above the Law" and "Out for Justice," but he's also an accomplished martial artist, holding a black belt in aikido, a Japanese martial art, that he earned in Japan. His prowess has helped Silva become Yahoo! Sports' second-ranked pound-for-pound fighter in MMA. He trains at the elite Black House gym with Silva, UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo and several other high-level fighters, and is seen in this Brazilian video teaching Silva and other Blackhouse fighters. This wasn't his first time at a fight with Silva, as he accompanied him to the cage before Silva's comeback victory at UFC 117. Now, Seagal can add two-time winning corner man to his resume. |
