um, are you an incoming freshman who wants to go to the B-school or are you talking grad school?

I graduated from Rutgers and B-school isn't easy to get into - could be 2 years of work down the drain if you don't get in.

x2. it's tough to get into the business school.

what you can do and what other's I know have done is accept admission to a different school at rutgers and then reapply later. you'll probably get in that way.

if you're going in as a freshman, it might not be that big of a set back since you can just take graduation requirements until you get into the business school.

Now that they're "consolidating" the campuses - just accepting a campus like livingston when you really wanted to get into rutgers college isn't as easy anymore.

Also, just because you take the required classes the first two years to even apply doesn't mean anything - you can still take those classes and not get in and they don't really count towards any other non-b school major....which is the part that really sucks.

of course none of this matters if OP is talking grad school....there's really no "hook-up" to get in.

Academia is an interesting world. I personally think asking somebody to put their neck out for you is a bit rude. I mean maybe somebody could refer you to somebody they found useful and insightful into getting in. But to vouch for you, that rude.

Theres a hookup to get into anything and everything in life. If you dont have it, you dont know the right people.
