1 series feels different because you dont have the solid centre consol in the back like the E92.

Find a VW Golf and jump in the back. Its pretty similar to the 1 Series

Yes, I do understand that, but still there is less shoulder and hear room space

It aint a Rolls Royce in the back, but it isnt bad

Id suggest you just wait till you get the opportunity to try one out.

It is more comfortable in the back seat, but is it roomier in the front?

The answer to that one is people who want the driving experience, not bothered about whether they can sit in the back of their own car. Same way I would not want a 750i and didn't like how big my 535d M-Sport was, but I appreciate there are others who do want that, we all want different things.

And please don`t comment on my grammer, before you get yours straight. Also, you need to start reading the posts more carefully, because if you read mine, you would have known that I am not going to post any numbers for your lazy a$$. Here is what you should have read: "Go do a comparo on them and tou will see....Let the numbers speak" Which I am going to translate to you in simple words: After you compare them, you will be able to see the numbers with your own eyes...
I know what you said, I was having a laugh, you are easily wound up that's all, chill out mate, we are all here cause we like cars, you gave your opinion and then a few people came back who have these cars and pointed out they are not as small as people like yourself think. Most people would probably just say 'hey, thanks for the info, that's interesting.' Not go off on one like a mentalist!!

3er....

Vehicle length 4520
Vehicle width 1817
Vehicle height 1421

1er....

Vehicle length 4239
Vehicle width 1748
Vehicle height 1421

There really isn't that much in it between the two.

With this you dont prove anything. Those are external dimensions, right? Go find the shoulder room, head room, and knee room for a MINI and a 1er.

If anyone is interested there is a good comparison test in the most recent CAR magazine (UK auto mag), putting the 130i hatchback up against the R32, Audi S3 and Volvo C30. Their take is:

C30: Looks great, but is very boring to drive.
S3: Very fast (has a highly tuned version of the VW GTI's engine, combined with AWD) and with lots of grip, but harsh ride and it gets bent out of shape very easily on the most uneven surfaces.
130i: RWD dynamics but cheap interior and poor packaging (trunk space, rear-seat room, etc.).
R32: Their overall pick. Heavy, but lots of character from the 3.2 V6 (which I think we'll get over here in 3.6L form), best interior room, design and quality.

Edit: My mistake, it's actually the previous issue of CAR.

I get what you are saying, being able to sit in the back of your car is important to you. That's great, buy a bigger car, but just listen for a moment please??

If you find the front of the 3er big enough for you, then the 1er will be fine as it is pretty much the same.

This is the interior of my 1er...

Dude, you dont get what I am saying
All I try to say is that when you sit in FON of a MINI, it looks (and it is) roomier than a 1er. And if I recall correctly, I was the one that told you not to compare the rear seats dont put words in my mouth.

I think we are going to have to agree to disagree, as I found the Mini too small for me and that was the main reason we got the 1er.

Mini feels more cramped in the front

Dimensions can be very misleading

Only way to tell is to drive both

I like the 1 series interior better than the current 3 series. IMO when you're in the current three you feel like you're in an unnecessarily bulky luxury car rather than a sporty GT. I hope they give us a turbo'd 2 door coupe or hatch.

Only that they're not bringing the sedan (4-dr) version here
