So I was giving my daughter a bath today. The newborn one I told you guys about. So anyways Im giving her a bath in her bed and I spill a little bit of water. So I use the hair dryer to dry the water mean while she is crying because thats what they do. Soon as I turned on the hair dryer all the noise ceased and she went to sleep in like 2 minutes. WTF I had no idea hair dryers do that type of magic other than drying things. i have heard of the vaccum and going on drives, but never the hair dryer. So if any of you guy/gals have any newborns give the hair dryer a try. BTW I had it on no heat and low air blowing torwards works even better.

I wonder if there's any negative impacts of putting your child to sleep with a hair dryer.... hrmm

Yup, when my daughter was a newb she would fall asleep a couple minutes into a car ride even if she had been fussing. Vacuum would freak her out for some reason though
I think certain kinds of white noise are comforting for babies.

How often, while the wife was pregnant, did she dry her hair? Might make your daughter feel like she's back safe in the womb.

Yup, I've got a big industrial style fan that I run for white noise, when that doesn't work a slide show on the TV (or iPhone in the car) set to Bob Marley will usually do the job.

yep, it's just white noise. Same reason why most young tots love riding in cars. I've been told that the background noise and gentle swaying motion reminds them of being in the womb.

Remember to not leave the hair dryer running while you leave the room. You don't need a fire in your kid's room while you aren't there. I just bought a white noise cd that I loaded on the ipod and set to play in a continual loop for our daughter. Worked great. A humidifier also works well.

my wife lived wife the damn hair dryer so that could be the case lol.

yea my older daughter gets narcaleptic (mispelled possibly but you get the idea) in the car. she doesnt last 5 minutes. she also use to only be quiet listening to those gospel radio stations.

Put her in her car seat, and set it on top of a running dryer. Simulates a care ride. Asleep in 5 minutes.
