Tesla

Off topic, but imagine BMW adopting this technology in a E90/E92... Tesla Roadster

Also check out the white paper on the technology. It makes you think BMW is on the wrong track with its Hydrogen fuel cell technology.

actually, this car is fully (100%) electrical and it can go from 0-60 in the 4 seconds (that is what I heard). Still in production as I know of and they only produced on order and the car run for $100,000 a piece. Frame is from a lotus and lotus also make the body panel.

for more info, check out their site:

Concur. I expect that Battery and plug-in hybrids basically solve all key issues and that the efficiency penalty/challenges are too vexing to pursue hydrogen car. I would love to buy a tesla equivalent that was closer to my price range.

Where do you clip the baseball card into the spokes?

You mean hydrogen will solve the problems with battery powered cars. Batteries are not at a level of efficiency to allow a fully electric car like the Tesla to be practical. Batteries won't be good enough for decades at least unless a major breakthrough is made. Hydrogen on the other hand it working in cars now and the range is far better than that of a battery powered car. Plus you save hundreds of pounds on batteries.

Extending driving range has already been solved -- it's called plug-in hybrid. Pure battery vehicle can be charged on the electrical grid more efficiently than any electrolysis or hydrogen station. Albeit, the charging time is slower than we're accustomed (at present) so we're going to change our habits. Or again, just buy a plug-in hybrid. Problem solved. I'm not stating batteries are a great solution, but they are a superior solution to any alternative that I know.

Fuel cells for improved fossil/hydrogen fuel to electric vehicle is a worthy cause due to its high efficiency, provided there is a pathway to solving its problems.

I am against the misguided advocacy of water electrolysis stations that are grossly inefficient.

The world will always be starved for energy. We're going to have to make big compromises at some point in our future. Picking the most efficient solution is going to lead to the least pain in the long run.
