Similar Nissan dealer experience as well. Lethargic sales, bare bone show room as if I am at an used car dealer, and just general feeling I am in a ghost town. I sat in the roadster for 5-10 mins and no one came to help so I left. Mostly because with the uninterrupted time I was able to discover some of the knobs and buttons still show where the plastic was injected into the mold, showing a lack of attention to detail.

Well BMW dealerships are not always rosy either. When I first started to consider a 335i I was still at college. I just got up 1 day threw on a sweater and decided to go to the closest dealership to my school for a test drive.
I got there, douche bag salesman comes after being called by receptionist. talks about the car like its his for 30 mins. Ask me if I have driven it yet. I said no. He said well lets go for a drive. I said alright. He grabs the keys gets in the DRIVER SEAT and tells me to get in passenger seat. Im like ok maybe hes guna take us out some open back country road (we are in the cutties) then switch. Nope, he then pretended he drives for F1 for 15 mins and circles back to the dealership lot. Get out, asks me when I plan to buy, I said I haven't decided between the 335 or the G37S yet. He hands me a card and says let me know when you decide kid (ya he actually said kid, I mean I look young, but I look def older than 21, I was 24 and no CA should call any1 kid that doesn't come with their parents) and a douche smirk. I was pretty dumb founded, and speechless. I almost bought a G37 just out of spit for him, but I didn't, thankfully. It was pretty funny that after I bought the car from Southbay I had to take it back to this dealership for some brake noise, the same CA ran into me at the showroom and asked if Im ready to talk some numbers with that look like I knew you were guna come back. All I said was "o, I got it from Southbay already, after I drove it, I just couldn't leave without it, signed that day, its a really nice car" lol I mean the biggest beef I have with dealerships in general is that they are so superficial, when I go in on the weekends with sweats and shorts, no1 wants to talk to me. I go in after work in full suit and shiny ass hair, I got 5 CA lined up before I even reach the front door ready to get dick slapped. I mean has it really come down to customers need to dress up to impress the dealers... common now! |

^^^Very similar to my BMW dealer experience. I went with a friend to look at the 335i's but nobody EVER bothered to come talk to us. My buddy has a full sleeve of tats so I guess we didn't meet the BMW criteria for "serious buyers". Anyway, I went to the Infiniti dealer that same day, they let us take out a new G37S and I went back and bought one a couple weeks later. You can find stories like this for ANY brand of car dealer. Some are great and some suck....

I expect every dealership to treat people like dirt, so I usually just wear a collared shirt and some jeans. It sucks but whatever.

May have told this before but WTH.
Lexus dealership in Phoenix/Scottsdale. A long haired skinny guy was riding his bicycle around the lot. The veteran sales guys egged a new guy on to go help him. They thought he was some crack head maybe. So the green pea goes out and the guy points at a white and a black LS400 (this was a few years back) and said I want those two. They went inside and he made a call to a bank to wire cash for both. His was the black and the white one was for his wife. The scraggly guy on the bicycle was Alice Cooper. True story. Try not and judge a book by it's cover. |

Wow a teenager on here who can spell, uses correct grammar, doesn't cry at the smallest hint of disagreement, and keeps his temper in check.
I think that makes you the second in this entire forum. Good job on that. You come off as more mature and educated than most members here. Refreshing to see that not all the youngsters are complete pieces of shit these days. |

I want my time back after reading that all you sounded like was a snotty, uneducated wanna-be BMW fanboi...
I bet you'd sit in a numbers matching plum crazy hemi challenger and drive it, then bitch about ROAD noise... It's a 370z not an S550... I think you are lost.

Dont know guys, I gotta tell you there will always be dealers that suck and dealers that are great to deal with, not sure if it really depends on a brand. I've been to so many dealerships for Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, Infiniti and BMW that are very pushy and try to get you into a an overpriced deal. On the other hand, I have also had great experiences with other Honda, Infiniti and BMW dealerships that are low-key, not pushy and are willing to give you a good deal. I bought my M45 from one of them and he let me take it out for a drive alone for half an hour. And we are talking about a car that was pretty hot when it just came out in 05.

I bought a GL 320 Bluetec last year and was allowed to take the car home, test it out and keep it overnight. I understand that it isn't a sportscar but it is still a $70,000 truck, so depends on the dealer regardless of make. Some people are cool and some are not.

2. I am white 3. T-shirt, camo shorts and a baseball cap 4. It was the second car I leased from the dealership Again, not every dealership sucks and people in general do not suck. I think the reason why some people get treated poorly is the attitude that they carry to the dealership. |
