Any post-hardcore guys on here?
just wanted to see how many guys like post-hardcore
my current album of choice is "homesick" A Day to Remember" but my favorite band is Alexisonfire, Dallas Green is probably the most talented vocalist in the business, artist of the year in 09 my favorite song, basically saying no matter what happens in life famous, rich, etc... he will never forget where he came from...rough hands

Let me begin with I hate how there are fucking 50 genres and "scenes" within what can be more or less described in 4 types of music "Metal" "Punk" "Hardcore" "emo" Really, I just break it down to rock and metal. But anyways, I like some, although I'm way off on all the sub genres and find the need for that many ridiculous (post hardcore, mathcore etc...) Maybe call me old fashioned. But Alexisonfire has been around a while. I remember their first cd from when I was in highschool so about 6 or 7 years ago. Not that I dislike the music, I just hate the scene/breakdown of it.

Son, don't tell your daddy how to fuck. My friends band Solar Powered Sun Destroyer has opened for Circa Survive a few times. Anthony was also in Sounds of Animals Fighting. Don't like current Saosin. Great live show, but just doesn't have the heart it used to.

But to get back on topic with the thread's original goal, three bands that everyone who listens to punk/hardcore/etc needs to know.

By the way one of the best nights of my life was at an Atreyu/Funeral for a Friend/ (Unfortunately taking back sunday was headlining) In 2004. It was the guitarist to taking back sundays birthday. Long story short, my friend and I end up backstage with all the bands ( security thought we were in atreyu for some dumbass reason) Hung out for a bit before they realized nobody knew who we were. They liked us enough they laughed it off and invited us to the afterparty. They had rented out motor city bar. We were 19 at the time. I looked old and had a fake ID but my friend looked 12 and didn't. Just as the doorman was laughing and turning us away, taking back sundays lead singer shows up with the band and tells the bouncer it's cool we're with them. It was all three bands and shit ton of groupies. It was one of the most insane nights of my life.
