New 63 AMG N/A Record!!! 11.24@124.32, Still Racing...
Congrats to Keith/DadsC63 for running 11.24@124.32 in his MHP S3 C63 on his first pass of the night at Moroso Motorsports Park in WPB, FL. These times/traps will serve as our pre-cam baseline.
Air should get better as the evening progresses, I will update thread with new times/ETs and eventually slips/vids. Thank you for your time/effort and dedication Keith and family!!! |

1 pass is all he could make due to someone running their vette through the barrier at the end of the track--track is now closed.
More info on the first run 1.65 60' spinning on Nittos, 1/8th was 7.25@97.68. Keith switched to MTs but was unable to make a second pass due to the crash. Thanks Last edited by MHP; 01-06-2010 at 08:24 PM.. |

Wow, that 60-130 time is ZR1 territory. That is damn fast. I might have to look into this complete tuning package.

Thanks!
MHP: v3 CDT (ECU/TCU), 1 7/8" LT Headers with High Velcity Merge Collectors, 3" mids, 3" X pipe/Catback, 180F Thermostat, and our Race Ported stock heads. Porting is worth 18-20rwhp on a stock longblock N/A 6.2 including stock sticks, but when paired with our billet cams will net us an additional 80-100rwhp. Goal is 540-560rw with H/C on Keith's car. Then we stroke to 7.0L re-port and re-cam. Quote:
BTW, that pass had a 1.65 60', 7.25@97.8mph 1/8th, 0-100 was 7.57 seconds. He was also on Nittos, had he been on MTs he would've ran an easy 11.1X, and with another 10F temp drop from the start (50F) to the end of the night (40F) he would've had a shot at 11.0s as long as the pad stayed sticky. At MIR in Feb/March, well, we'll all have cams by then but you get the idea. Thanks Andy |

AMG always intended to TT the 6.2L but you know how that ended up. There is no mechanical reason you can't apply FI to a M156 however that does not hold true for the software unless you run a standalone. Not enough room in scaling of A/F or WOT timing. Many have tried, more will continue to, however unless you're Brabus and can call Bosch up directly and request 1000 ME9.7 ECUs with specific A/F and timing range changes, it's just not going to happen. That's why we are going with H/C (goal is 700HP N/A), stroking to 7.0L, and spraying (100 shot on stock bottom end, 300+ with billet/forged 7.0L). Even N/A, ultimately in this application (C63) we're going to be limited ET/Trap wise by wheel/tire size--we have to perform body work to fit a 10.0" rim out back and not look like rednecks--not HP/TQ. |

It looks like the retail for all those parts is closer to $21k and not the $19,529.90 that Keith quoted. Simple addition errors I guess.

You're right lol I just did the math myself. The good news is you can get Keith pricing now, so retail doesn't really matter.

Wow, quick times. 7k for cams is a bit steep, but it's never cheap to be the pioneer. Hope to see some affordable packages soon, I miss my c6 which had head/cam.

Here's why the cams cost what they do for 63s: 1) We need 2 cam blanks since intake/exhaust lobe spacing is different, this doubles the price vs just one blank for all 4 cams. 2) 32 lobes to grind vs 24, and 4 cams vs 2 cams vs older MB/AMG motors 3) We use rifle drilled 9310 steel and spare no expense in the accuracy of grinding or final specing by hand 4) We only make 5 sets at a time So yes it does seem steep at first but cost on these things (since they are all custom almost one off pieces) is not cheap for us either. Our (MHP's) niche is no compromise race hardware, so our stuff will never be inexpensive, but it will always perform. Thanks! |

Nice times. Moroso is great this time of year, if they bother to prep the track.
I used to live on Singer Island, and I'd hit the Wednesday night T&T at least once a month reguardless, but when it cools down like this you can run great numbers. I'll bet there's been a hell of a crowd out there though! |
