Porsche 997 GT2

Hey everyone,

just was surfing around on porsche's website and doing a bit of drooling over the 997 GT2. Was wondering if any forum members on here own one or have gotten the chance to drive one????

I live in NYC and have seen one...since they came out....and saw it on NJ TPKE coming home from PA one time.

Car looks absolutely insane....and at 200K figure there pretty rare....hope I can afford one ....one day.

Wait a year or two and it will be in the price range of a moderately equipped 997TT. Wait a little longer than that and you will find it under $100K because of the high maintenance costs and it being out of warranty, like the 996 GT2s on eBay and such. Despite this, it doesn't make it any different than any other flagship exotic and is still easily one of the finest cars on the road.

BTW, what the hell is it's Top Gear lap time???? Damn Clarkson lol

fun car. if you've ever driven a 997tt and thought that was fast, the 7 GT2 will blow you away. well defined car in my opinion. i still prefer the GT3 though (for me at least).

The question is...would you rather have a GT2 or a new GT3?

The GT2 has the specs to boast, and I'm sure it's amazing to experience a straightline rush like the one it has to offer, but the GT3 seems like the much better all-around driver's package.

I purposely went with the 600. I want a cruiser, a pure comfortable GT to haul me around. Infact the only reason I chose the GTS is because i want sufficient power in my hauler and would LOVE to get a luxury package on it instead of the standard sport package, to make a more pliant ride.

Also I need to add the 959 and the F40 to my list and if I was that rich, maybe a mecca.

yea that seems to be the general consensus....was just curious on other people's opinions of it though and if it was worth the 200K.

+1....Gt3 is a true racing car. Gt2 will demolish it on the track but the high revving character of Gt3 would be more enjoyable. +the new Gt3 also got an option of ceramic brakes.

Not looking at the specs, the new 997.2 GT3 looks great . Check it out for yourself.

I love the new front bumper touches...sweet

Not bad but unfortunately Gt2 looks outdated.
