Question Etymotic Research

I just purchased another pair of ER6i's because I lost my other set. Anyone compare the sound from the ER6i's to the ER4's or even the ER6's? I'm hoping I didn't make the wrong decision...again!

TIA
Danny

I have those headphones too, they are pricy and look nice, but you know they hurt my ears sometimes. I think earbuds should not have too good of a bass (which these do) or they start to hurt. Those big old clunky headphones are the best thing to wear to get nice punchy hard hitting bass, but then again you look like a moron walking around with them.

Sorry, my whole post is an aside, I cant really compare them since I only have one pair Good luck with them, how do you like them overall ?

Got a pair of er6i. Sound great with trance, real comfortable too when wearing the foam tips. Never tried the rubber ones.

As for bass, they have disappointed me a little. These are my first set of "mid-high end" headphones, and wanted a little more. But the sound isolation is excellent and that was my main issue as I use it when flying.

Some say the sound between the er4s and 6i are similar, and it is merely the construction of the units which is different. Others respond and say the 4s has more bass and sounds fuller at all frequencies. Not sure, but would love to try!

Thanks Mark, I love them, and working out at the gym has not been the same using cheap earphones. I agree, the big ones are more comfortable and sound the best, but like you said, not for the gym!

I have not used the shure brand, but some of my friends have them and I think they are great too. I think the one I have is the competitor for the E3c model, the e4 retails for $319.00.

I usually prefer the rubber flanged tips over the foam ones, but I think I will switch it around. I think I made the right choice, the ER4's are a little more than I want to spend, especially since I lost my first pair of ER6i's!
