Question iPhone 3G Unlock On New Years...But Question

ok we are all excited about the new years release of the 3g soft unlock, myself anxious and estatic . i just read that t-mobile's 3g is 1700mz? wth? aren't 3g networks supposed to be 2100mhz (japan, korea, att)?

so tmobile 3g will not be supported with an unlocked 3g phone?

That depends on what bands iPhone 3G supports I guess, but it looks like T-Mobiles 3G network and the iPhone aren't compatible at the moment.

yes, the unlock will come out next week, BUT. It only works with baseband (modem firmware) 2.11.07 or earlier. This is the version that came out with iPhone OS 2.1. OS 2.2 has newer version. So if you are running non-jailbroken 2.2, even if you jailbreak it now, your baseband version will not be supported.

This also applies to ALL new iPhones sold after 2.2 came out.
