I've always like the S2000. Fun car with Honda reliability.

A gazillion VTEC horsepower, with 14 foot-pounds of torque.

Horsepower numbers sell Hondas, torque wins races.

There was a three-driver team who ran an S2000 that used to run at events with me, and they had to change the clutch out after every two events because of the way they had to beat the snot out of it to get it to launch off the line. My car did several seasons of AWD launches (rev to redline and side-step the clutch pedal), and still has the factory clutch in it today at age 25 and qualifying for historic license plates.....

I've always thought of the S2000 as a four-wheeled motorcycle.

With their S2000, Honda made it patently obvious that most people [anyone saying these types of things] should have bought a Mustang, and didn't nearly have the skill to own their car.

Low weight/low torque means one thing; you must carry speed. This takes skill way beyond normal, and only those that can do it can appreciate it.

In other words; only those that know how brilliant the S2000 is, know. Everyone else is just without a clue.

EDIT: Sorry, these are quotes I remember from the early C&D/R&T/MT articles, not my words (I only added the part in brackets!). I certainly don't have the skill to drive the S2000 the way it was intended to be driven.

The Porsche 356 ended production in April of 1965, with the new 911 (6 cyl) and 912 (4 cyl) models on the market.

This Stone Grey 356SC was one of the last... beauty!

I had a 2004 Mazda RX-8 that was pretty much on par with the S2000.
Good HP and low torque, and that low torque ((I think it was 159 lb./ft)
occurred at something like 4500 RPM. It was a fun car, but I had to really
row the gears to get the performance out of it. That, and the MPG was
terrible. I traded it in on my 2014 M235i.
