11/2024.40 apparently fixes the esim problems and is supposed to be OTA in January.

Hello, I took delivery of my vehicle (g60 520i) a week ago. Since there is no e sim support in Turkey, we bought a physical data line and plugged it into BMW's hotspot device and it worked. 2 days later, when I got in the car 3/4 conditions fulfilled. proceed with installation screen came up and I cannot introduce the sim card, the sim card is not activated. I reset the vehicle, removed my bmw id and added it again but it still didn't work, I still get the same error.

I think this error is not a problem with the line operator because when I connect the line to another device, it gives internet service, is there a problem with BMW's own infrastructure?

Finally, do we have to use this bmw's hotspot device, can't we connect the car to the internet when we plug in another hot spot device such as: TP-LINK M7350 4G LTE

Thank you for your comments.

I have been trying to make this work right since I took delivery of my i5 in December of 2023. Do not waste your money or time with the eSIM until BMW gets this figured out. I have wasted hours on the phone with BMW as well as my car being at the dealership for at least a week.

No, and it may well not be available until sometime in March, the 4-month delay seeming to be BMW's methodolgy.

That said, I did get 11/2024.50 applied at the dealership under warranty owing to the disfunction of the eSIM and the scheduled charging. When I got the car back, the eSIM activated flawlessly (as it had done PRIOR to the 7/2024 update) and the scheduled charging (for me) works a treat. In addition, the FA coding I'd done with BU to restore anti-dazzle, stayed activated. So 11/2024.50 (i5 M60) fixed all the issues of which I was aware that were broken by 07/2024.

I have an appointment at the dealer this Tuesday morning for the update. I'm tired of waiting for OTA and having to call Verizon every two to three weeks to get it to work again and explain why they shouldn't be charging me extra line and connection fees since its the same Device ID/IMEI2 # given that its a BMW software bug and not my fault as the customer. Each time I call Verizon it gets easier and faster for them to correct it. I just tell them it would be advantageous of them to take five minutes to read through my past cases with them. Get the support agent up to speed and know what to do without having the waste time on repetative trouble shooting. Its worked to get the eSIM working again, but I don't want to keep doing this. I want and hope this software update fixes the issue.

I Still have not received any OTA updates. I'm still running on 07.2024 and my car says no updates available. MyBMW App as well.

No it historically is 3-4 months after the date of the update, but I feel like we’re entering the time period when it might show up for us soon.

Just an update from an updated car. Update was a week before Christmas. E-sim is since then installed via Ubigi (3rd party internet provider). And is still working!
