I pick the car, options, engine, etc. I let her pick the color from a short list. This is for my car and her car.

I would look at the situation as a whole and there should be balance between a husband and wife. The wife shouldn't be so dominant that the man cannot make any decisions on his own. If that is the case, there is something else wrong IMO.
Respect is a 2-way street.

I don't feel the need to 'share' *my* money - neither does she. What's commonly owned, we both pay for. I'm not spending her money to buy mods for my car, new computer parts, etc. She's not spending my money buying clothes, beauty products, etc.

Sure this isn't the typical way of handling finances when married but it works for us and it is working for more and more couples these days. I don't feel the need to consult my wife on purchases and she feels the same. The big thing is making sure the bills are paid for, we go out often, and buy the toys we want.

We are not selfish, we do make responsible purchases, and we do share possessions like mature adults. I appreciate you judging me though.

Because we have seperate bank accounts defeats the purpose of getting married and we don't work as a team towards our goals? Uhh why's that? I fail to see how those two things have anything to do with each other. All of 'our goals' are taking care of with a common bank account we have together. The 'toy' money we have in our own accounts. If we want to do a cruise for example - we will both throw a few hundred bucks in the common account every paycheck to save for it.

being whipped or not is in the back of a lot guys minds......because drawing the line between just being nice and being too nice/whipped is cloudy sometimes.

It's a dual income world these days...

that's pretty much the best way to build resentment when one person earns subtantially more than the other.

Talk about being whipped. A week ago I saw a Korean guy carrying his girlfriend's purse on his shoulders ...so I asked my co-worker (she's Korean) and she said that this is common in their culture...carrying a girl's purse while walking inside the mall is degrading to a man IMO
