AJerman...nice to see a "southern gentleman" from around the corner.
P.S. "Hazing" is NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING like what you think. I was never pissed on, forced to do anything I would be embarrassed about, forced to drink, deprived of sleep or anything else that could or would be considered illegal. And no, if you do not get initiated, you do not get your pledge fees back. |

I got hazed to shit... "Thank you sir, may I have another!" multiply that by 130... and you end up with a bloodied ass (if you are lucky), if you aren't as lucky, you will have bruises on your ass that will trickle down your veins down to your feet...

+1 on Fraternities being glorified social clubs. You pay your dues and that goes towards basically every function that you throw for the year. Yes, you do pay a bit of money to national. But in return they provide you with all of the structure in running the house, history, and a huge social network that you have at your disposal after you leave school. At least if your fraternity was large enough, Pikes, SAE, etc. Its not just money for nothing. I'm surprised that so many poeple in this thread that are actually brothers in a fraternity are calling them "frats".
