Need dinner recommendation near UC San Diego for Sunday

Going to dinner with a family with a 16 yr old - Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean, Greek, CA cuisine - any ideas?

Near UCSD, probably just go to UTC mall. There are many fine dinings there

But if you are willing to drive south for 15-20 min, there is this bbq ribs restaurant that is famous

To rape an old thread and preventing to open something new...
Im in SD from 29th Jul till 04th Aug. Planning to stay via AirBNB, except anybody has a splendid alternative.
Things planned to do: Beaches (probably La Jolla), relaxing and nothing too wild.
Anymore recommendations? Its not my first time btw.

Midway tour is worthwhile. See the donkey show in Tiajuana?

Was on Midway 5 years ago, something significant changed?
Had asked the lot last time to visit Mexico, was all in all not featured caused by horrible border barriers at re entry the US.

I think it is still the same Midway; and probably the same donkey show as when I first visited TJ and Ensenada in the 1970s (and that was not a serious suggestion). I’m with you on not going thru the border hassle.

Balboa Park is the place to be, especially the Spanish Village Artist Center. You can spend an entire day there. Japanese Friendship Garden is beautiful as well.

La Jolla has a cool cave you can go down into through a tunnel which was carved by boot leggers. Breakfast at Richard Walkers is super good there too.

San Diego Zoo is a confusing nightmare, wouldn't go to that again.

Cabrillo National Monument has perfect views, also over looks the Air Force Base that is constantly busy. The fighter jets and helicopters show off non-stop, the park even has a board showing what all the aircraft are. There is also a tide pool you can check out as long as you hit it at the right time, they post the times. Just wear the right shoes as it is VERY slippery.

The Crack Shack in Little Italy has very good food, cool place parking kinda sucks. Just park down the street along the main road.

If you don't mind an absolute hole in the wall check out Abay Ethiopian Market to eat. Looks like a grocery but just head straight back past the drink coolers and you'll find the tiny restaurant. The owner is extremely nice and makes great food at super prices. If you want something to drink just grab it out of the cooler on the way back. Seat yourself and you can wash your hands in the bathroom back and to the right, since there is zero silverware. I'll say it again the owner was a fantastic person with a cool story and a big heart!

Thanks a lot man, appreciated, will give some of them definitely a try.
Last time I'd stopped short before entering the park zone at Point Loma because I thought this was military restricted area. Saw later on maps satellite view that this was a maut station. Across on Coronado this is a Navy Base and not Air Force, just saying Point Loma is anyway onto my bucket list to visit an old an popular TopGun movie spot.

I guess that makes sense since it's right on the water lol. I'm jealous, wouldn't mind living there and can't wait to go back!

Garage List
plenty of solid restaurants in little italy...we liked mimmo's and born & raised. there's also a ballast point brew pub there if you want to keep it low-key / casual.

parking in little italy is absolutely the WORST and ridiculously expensive! plan to uber.

Its actually not fix decided where to stay, I consider AirBNB and have a nice offer from direction Point Loma and near Balboa Park. Gaslamp Quarter is too expensive and others right into center have only public parking space at the street and as read already, parking space is small and expensive.
