A one race invitation to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen.
Says Kimi...“I wasn’t looking to race again, but Justin Marks (co-owner of Trackhouse Racing) came to my home in Switzerland and convinced me how serious he was about putting together a top-notch program. This will be fun, but it’s something I will take very seriously. I know how competitive the NASCAR Cup Series is and it will be a big challenge.”

Kim qualified 27th...35 laps in (race is 90 laps), he's in 9th.

"Kimi has crashed! He and Austin Dillon have gone around in the bus stop, and Raikkonen has hit the tire barrier and suffered extensive front end damage. He got turned by Ross Chastain, and then Raikkonen ended up making wheel-to-wheel contact with Loris Hezemans in that scrum. That sent Raikkonen off track and into the barrier.
Raikkonen is now out of his car and done for the day."

Next Gen cars are lightyears ahead of last chassis and it shows in the road course races this year. Shame about crash maybe if they had raced more in the wet who knows? Heck Joey Hand was there to rent out himself.
