Do you think RR Cullinan is worth the price?

Hi guys, do you think RR Cullinan is worth the price? Or better to choose some less expensive SUV?

Personally I think it's a waste of money. But that's just me.

If you are buying a Roller, you aren't buying anything else. So a RR buyer would think it is 100% worth it. Personal opinion, if i had this much money I still don't think I'd splurge on one, but i am also not anywhere near that level of wealth to understand their world at all.

To be fair, it looks prettier than it looks in picture. (still not as classy as a Phantom mind you), and likely my pick if i wanted a 'tremble before me you peons' SUV. Bentley looks horrid, G wagen too offensive, Maybach GLS is just disgusting.

Course it is, if people buy it. But since it's an SUV, I'd give $3.50 for it and I'd put a hitch rack on it to haul my bicycles around and drive to the trailheads.

I see a bunch of them in and around my subdivision and they certainly command a presence, more so than the Urus and Bentayga that are the closest in price and I also see a bunch of. I never see the Maybach/Mercedes SUV which means no one is really buying them, likely because it just looks like any other Mercedes SUV on the outside.

They are a good bit more expensive the the others I named and the buyers are walking into the RR dealers with no intent on buying the others I mentioned; a Rolls is what they want, and a Rolls is what they are getting. The others simply do not compare.

I's all relative in the end. If you have the means and the desire, you buy what you want, no matter a watch, car, clothing, houseware, tools, etc?

not worth it to me but i also don't have that kind of money and never understood the high end luxury car market. not only are those cars expensive, they depreciate at an alarming rate compared to ferrari/lambo/porsche.

i suppose it would be like asking a typical lexus or S-class buyer if they feel the 765LT is worth double what the 570s costs. they'd probably say you're crazy.

I think it's definitely worth more money than Bentayga or Aston Martin DBX. BUT on the other hand, does anything ultra luxury worth it? Does Louis Vuitton purses worth the money... I think it's excessive.

They definitely have huge presence in person and I love the brighter two-tone interiors like the blue one in the video or black/red. I have nowhere near the money to afford a $450k car but if money was no object there isn't anything higher quality out there. It's also a MASSIVE car. Even the Wraith and Ghost are huge when you see them in person, they're like a foot longer than you'd expect them to be. The Phantom EWB is bigger than most full-size trucks.

I did a private test drive event for the Aston Martin DBX last week and was honestly blown away by it. I wasn't expecting much but the engine is great, the interior is very luxurious, super high quality leather, sounded pretty good for being stock, and handled better than any SUV I've driven except maybe a Cayenne Turbo with PDCC which I'd say was about equal. Might be interested in a DBX when they're half price in 3 years.

A large part of that price is exclusivity. If you're simply taking it at face value as cost of materials, then no, it's not worth it. But this is how luxury works. There's diminishing returns the higher up the scale you go, but at that point you start getting into the realm of exclusivity which carries a high premium in and of itself. It's a symbol of success - you're somebody in a RR as opposed to an average nobody in lesser vehicles.

I mean... of course not.

But are you actually in a position in life where you can afford a RR but you are unsure of it because it might not be worth it's price?

I sold my wife's Cully after 9 months and 2500 miles for more than MSRP.

She didn't like it. While RR cars are among the best, I didn't care much for it either. Main reason people around here get a Cullinan is because it's not an Urus or G63, which are quite literally the most common cars you see driving in LA.

Range Rover is still the king of luxury SUVs.

Let's just say of all the luxury SUVs from uber-lux brands, this is the one that looks the part. A Phantom still looks more impressive, but relative to competitors this looks best to me.

The Bentayga is flat out unattractive. The DBX is a bland blob. Urus looks like a mom car. The list goes on.

Some of my family’s wealthier friends splurge on the same cookie cutter cars that really are kind of cringey and just look like they’re still insecure even with all that money.

In my opinion, the cullinan actually looks nice and elegant without being overstated or trying to compensate for something.

That being said I don’t think I would buy one even if I had enough money where it wasn’t an issue.

It's worth it to someone or else they wouldn't make it. Now is it objectively worth it? Like if you blind folded someone and drove them around in it vs some other SUV for a fraction of the price would they say, yes, this one is definitely worth X more... doubt it.

I'm obviously not the target market for this or any RR, but I would imagine if you are buying one of these you are pretty bored. You've had all the luxury brands already and you need to get into "exclusivity" rare materials and other shit like that to get your jollies. Personally I hate attention so I'm not sure I would get a RR even if I had money to burn, but who knows, that kind of money can fuck with peoples heads.

I was in the market for one but settled on a RAV4. Couldn't justify the extra $$

Did you also cross shop a Unimog with tracks? I think all three are frequently cross shopped.

Don't forget the airboat. Just try to get a Cullinan through the swamp.
