No mandatory jail time for disregard of safety in Ohio. Got popped for 117 on the turnpike and the officer wrote me the ticket, told me to slow down and have a nice day, and sent me on my way. Judge didn't give a fine larger than a normal speeding ticket and told me I wasn't the fastest he had, but I was second.
Seemed like a challenge. Nelson Ledges is a road track and there is Mid-Ohio as well. I've not been to either of them, or any road course for that matter. The Northern-Ohio Chapter of the BMW CCA is having four schools this year, with the first being at Mid-Ohio. You need to be a member and the cost is $300, but since it is in April, chances are the event has already been filled. You can try here for more information: http://www.nohiobmwcca.org/. Harvey Rogers is the driving event coordinator. |

Montana has some "prudent speed" sections still I think. No limit if it's daylight. Everywhere else, who cares? Speed limits are just a number, drive at a safe speed and ignore the signs.

same in MD. no matter how fast you go, you get a speeding ticket thats it....although it's like $500+ for triple digit speeds lol as oppose to some parts of the US...you can get arrested/car impounded on the spot for speeding

on my cross country trip from ME-WA, I took I-90 out, had the cruise set at 85-95 from S. Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana. I was still getting passed by TDI Jetta's who were cruising at 110+ mph. I saw one cop on the whole trip, going thru S. Dakota, my V1 Detector detected his radar before he could get us.

Aroostook County, Maine. sortof.
They've been talking about increasing the limit significantly for a while, they can't enforce the 65 because there are 2 troopers at any given time in a county larger than CT and speeds average over 100 up there! That, and they only (can afford) X-Band.

not in Ontario (Canada). 50+ kmh over the limit and they impound your car, suspend your licence, and $2000 fine. they'll leave you on the side of the road.
