Very nice story.
My father came to this country in the 80s with a bachelor's degree in ME but that was all. He went to 3-4 universities to complete his Master's degree...wherever he'd get a scholarship for a semester or two. Flipped burgers, sold magazines, did TA work, borrowed his professor's car, etc. in order to make it in this country. Heck no firms would hire him due to his green card status, until one somehow was able to sponsor him and take a chance on the guy. Everything I am today is because both my parents struggled and paved the road for me. I love these types of stories. |

This is the American Dream.
This is what many european immigrants accomplished just 70 or so years ago. My grandfather being one them. Came over from italy with barely two pennies to rub together, and ended up becoming a successful real estate developer. Unfortunately, today, its all about handouts, and what people "owe" you. Nobody owes anyone else shit, go out and work for it. Great story OP
