African Safari
Anyone been? I am starting to look into one for next year. Wife and I are doing Italy in March this year then one more trip before kids. It's funny how exspensive safaris are.
My fears are getting kidnapped or getting sick. To clarify looking at flying to Mt Kilimanjaro then taking an Arusha safari as that seems to be the cheapest options. |

I've been at least 6 times in the past 20 Years. From Algeria, Taschad, Niger, Cameroun, Zimbabwe, Mozamique, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland Lesotho to South africa. Maybe 20 thousand miles travel all together. Stunning continent.
If you need some advice to plan a trip. My Father live in Botswana and plans trips with guests. This is his FB Page https://www.facebook.com/Guided-Self...c_location=ufi Here we are Last edited by X Driver; 01-31-2016 at 04:10 PM.. |

African Safari? Is there other safaris other than African?
Anyways this is in my bucket list. Try OAT travel. A friend went on a 15 day to Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. He says it's enough. |

It is a guided self drive safari what my father offers, you drive alone in one of his cars like those patrols, he and his wife are the guides and they will cook aswell. They will help you with all the customs, entry's in parks and to find overnight places, fuel and food..
This is what he do. But maybe you need just a advice or a tip where to go. Just email him.. He will answer you some questions.. Say him his son tell you about him. |

That's awesome in itself. I love watching documentaries on overland trips. I read a journal of a couple that drove across Congo. It was way to scary for my personal taste but very intriguing.

Been on one of the smaller private lodges for a safari in South Africa...absolutely amazing stuff and an amazing continent...I know it's a cliche but there is a special vibe/energy in Africa...
I don't have much advice for a safari that you're talking about...X Driver seems to have the info you need. Enjoy the trip!

Please don't post a picture of you wearing a BMW hat standing over a dead Rhino or some famous lion. They hate us enough already. Take along a "Christ is King" or "Trump 2016" shirt for the "revered but now dead" animal photo.
