New Diesels (autoweek)
In addition to the twin turbo oil burner that is coming in the 335 & X5, the 1/7 issue of Autoweek says that " further diesel engines, including a new 204 hp, twin-turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder, likely to be added to the lineup soon." Sounds good! Happy new year to all!

Woohooo! That is great news! I think it will be great PR for BMW to have a 50 mpg car. Not to mention the good that it will eventually do for our planet!!!!

Before the particulate traps being used for euro4 engines the particulates coming from a diesel exhaust were bigger than the particulates (pm10) from a petrol exhaust (pm5) and because they could be seen people automatically assumed that the exhaust was dirtier from a diesel whereas the smaller invisible particulates from a petrol exhaust are far more damaging to the lungs as they get past natures filters. Now that most diesels are fitted with particulate traps they are cleaner than petrol exhausts on the particulate front.

I consider the "planet" to include the biota. But yeah, hopefully the BMW engineers are working on ways to modify our star's transition to a red giant.
But who cares, Mizzou and Michigan started out the new year very nicely!

BMW diesel technology is great. The emissions on the new diesels with Urea injection are N2 and H20. I'm looking forward to test driving a diesel when they come stateside.
