Agreed. I think our limits would be explored a hell of a lot sooner than the cars.

This is the downgrade of my M3!!!! I would buy 10 Prius instead. I'm not into Vipers any more. Sorry guys. I love the Ford GT though. Please don't start with a discussion of why I don't like it. It could be fast, it may have 1.5 Gs on I don't know what turn, they could spent 80 hours painting it (according to a forum member) but still it's not my type of car that I would pay $200k, if I had them. No doubt it's a sport car but I'm not into it and I'm hoping it doesn't grow into me.

Are you one of the 0.1% that can drive that car at it's limit and not end up in a fiery ball of death?
I'm not. My limit would be reached far before the car even exerted a grunt.

No I couldn't explore it everywhere but pretty close I would bet. I would explore my limit in the car and that would grow. I know I wouldn't be afraid to hammer it to 170 down the front straight at pacific. I do have decent amount of track time.

better than corvette and gtr imo. those are likely what i would be comparing them to if i were in the market.

The stars are aligned and I have put some good thought into it. I finally decided not to go forward to due to the following reasons. 1) I see the ACR as a HUGE depreciating asset. 2) As great as the car is, you can pretty much only use it on track as daily usability and driveability is extremely poor. 3) Wife doesn't quite fancy it and believes the ACR will leave her widowed. 4) If the seats are anything like the GTS then they are very uncomfortable. 5) It'll be sitting in the garage most of the time and occasionally tracked. 6) I enjoying being able to at least go 9/10 on a car and the ACR would either take a lifetime to explore or just take my life. 7) and most importantly, an unexpected allocation popped up for a very personally desirable P car. It was a fun week contemplating a Viper ACR.

I'm ready for a new generation. Maybe a mid-engined version. The Corvette has the same issue. Same old same old, just more shiny and faster.
A whole new layout would be welcomed (by me), but I'm nobody, so it'll never happen. |

I just posted a new thread for our self-initiated, self-funded Viper Video Series:
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...php?p=18491231 As enthusiasts, we all know the Viper has an attraction that goes beyond it's history, performance, and styling. The Viper has always been alive, but it's seems that it's always been misunderstood, possibly due to poor marketing or a lack of marketing. So we independently started a project that was going to look at how far an owner would go to be able to drive their Viper through all 4 seasons. After realizing that a simple video was not going to capture the essence of the story, the project morphed into a 1+ year commitment called the Viper Video Series. We assembled an Emmy Award winning crew to document in pure 1080p what makes the Viper, an endangered automotive species, so amazing. We've tried to make the series conversational so that we don't sound like a bunch of journalists or fanboy enthusiasts. It's hard to do, but we think we have filled that niche. Episode 1 is officially out and we hope to have multiple more episodes to come as time and budgets permit (completely self funded currently). Please feel free to distribute the link, "like" the video, and subscribe to our channel to keep updated on our future videos. We've put a lot of time and money into this project so far and we hope you enjoy it and leave positive comments! Stay tuned for more. |

I think I'll venture into the viper world with a gen 2 gts first. Doesn't look like there's much demand for this car at the moment. It's really a sad story for the viper team. 2017 is rumored to be the last year for them

Those numbers are amazing. Those videos are insane. This Viper is indeed no joke. I wonder if the GT350R can pull similar numbers at the track. Maybe as a daily car is not the best of the best choices but for a track toy this is one nice put together fun track machine. ( just my opinion).

P1 and 918 performance for a fraction of the price is incredible. If you were a serious track guy/gal this appears to be your machine. I'd pass out at 1.5g lateral.
