Agree wholeheartedly with Lups. Top Gear is over. The three of them need to move on, whether it's to a new show where they can get back to the roots of what made Top Gear great, or to something different and new to their lives. It's been great, and it's over. I wonder how much of what has been going downhill for the show in recent years is wholly created by the BBC and their controls on the three of them. I don't find it to be any coincidence that the more drama there was over things that were said in episodes (India, Mexico, Vietnam, Falklands, the mumbling overreaction, etc) the more scripted the show became. The presenters (all three) weren't allowed to just fly from the cuff anymore. It's painfully obvious in the last season that they were totally fed up with it and nearly going through the motions.
