So I'm looking at the statement from my BOA cash rewards and it says:
cash rewards total available 380.73 Does that mean I have $380 to spend or use toward my balance? Of course the statement does not mention anything on how to redeem this..

Then, simply click the big grey button "Redeem cash rewards" and you can redeem as much as you want (minimum $25). You will also get a 10% bonus beyond that if you put that money into a BoA checking or savings account so if you redeemed all $380.73 you'll actually get $418.80. I think you still get the 10% bonus if you just use that to pay down your cash rewards credit card balance. Don't worry if your balance is currently $0. Negative balances are fine (at least in my experience). |

Oh, and I'm talking about online banking with bank of america. So you'll have to sign in to bankofamerica.com first with your online ID and passcode. I believe you have to sign up for online banking though, but it's free and there's no reason not to do it. It's much easier to deal with than paper statements.

You can have both an online account and still receive paper statements if you want, so it's not an either/or deal.
But online banking makes it very easy to redeem cash rewards whenever you want. Not only that, but your bank of america cash rewards deal has bonus awards that you can get. They have a list of coupons that you "select" (it's free to select and you should always select all of them since there's no downside to doing so). Typical examples of some of these additional bonus reward coupons are as follows. 1. Stay at the Hilton between now and 1/1/2015 and receive 10% back on your bill 2. Dine at Johny Carinos and receive 10% cash back (expires: 2/2015) 3. Dine at Pei Wei and receive 10% cash back (expires: 2/2015) It's a bunch of restaurants and hotels and various other stores where you can get additional cash back. The expiration dates are meaningless. Quite often when a coupon expires they'll replace it with another one with a later expiration date. |
