What a shame
I remember watching John Button when he was competing in motorsport himself, way back in the 1970's and early 1980's, before retiring to concentrate on supporting a very young Jensen in karting. John was a pretty good rallycross driver, with his self built and prepared Beetles, and then Golfs. Here's a young John back in the 1970's with his rallycross Beetle, in front of his VW dealership in Somerset.

He seemed so cool and supportive of Jenson. A real shame. I'll miss seeing him and his pink shirt around the paddock on race days.

Shatty news. John Button seemed like a really nice guy, supposedly everyone in the paddock loved him.
F1 is getting rocked with off-season bad news this year. |

The man got to coach and see his kid reach the very top of success, fame and fortune doing what he love while still keeping both feet on the ground. Not a bad life for a dad but still sad news, especially for Jenson and the rest of the family. My condolences and RIP Mr. Button.

Read the news on McLaren and Button FB page over the weekend. Truly saddened by the news. RIP! The real gentlemen on the paddock!
