Automatic locking of doors
I've done my due diligence - I used the search tool but haven't been able to find this answer. Apologies upfront this is an obvious thing:
Have a 2007 750 li. Only had it since July. I like the feature of doors locking automatically after I get in a car, especially if my wife ever drives the car. My BMW does not do this and I am just wondering if it is supposed to and this feature is just not working on my vehicle. Thanks in advance, Dave |

Hi.
Have you tried the car's user manual? The "Settings" section may describe how to enable this feature if your car has it to start with. Cheers. |

Nothing in the manual about doors automatically locking or not - just 20 ways to lock or unlock them...
Can anyone tell me if their BMW doors automatically lock after starting the car - 7 series or other? Or just when the shut the doors? Thanks |

feature is automatic locking
it is not in your 2007 owner's manual From the 2014 M5 manual: Automatic locking The setting is stored for the remote control currently in use. 1. "Settings" 2. "Doors/key" 3. Select the desired function: ▷ "Lock if no door opened" The vehicle locks automatically after a short period of time if a door is not opened. ▷ "Lock after start driving" The vehicle locks automatically after you drive away. |

Thanks for confirming it that it should have the feature. This will be my first BMW dealer experience.
Consider thread closed --- Unless someone has any advice for which dealership is best to work with in San Diego County. |
