Anyone have luck with Apple outside of warranty?

My iPhone 5 lock button just died on me. My warranty ended about 1 week ago.

Anyone have luck getting a courtesy repair from Apple outside of warranty? This is the first iPhone that ever broke on me out of 5+ iPhone I had in the past.

It depends on the Apple Genius person. If they are nice, they will swap a refurb for you.

If it's just one week they would probably swap it for you. Make an appointment and go ask them instead of posting on here . Be nice to them and you should be okay.

Those lock buttons are a notorious problem with the Iphone5, so I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced it for you so close to the warranty date.

My wife got her cracked screen fixed for free and they charged her for mine. Not out or warranty but not covered. The one that did it for free was a guy...

Just be really nice and don't act important. I'm sure they deal with dicks all day.

push up bra & v neck = free replacement

Can also look at swapping the button yourself. I did similar lock button surgery on my old iphone 4.

In last 2 years, I started replacing my iPhone just before the warranty expired. It takes 2 visits to get it replaced as the genuis bar folks these days are hard to convince on 1st visit and they insist restoring the firmware. My 3G & 3GS stoped working just around the warranty period but luckily it was genuine fault. Since then I get it replaced very 8-10months. Be naive and pretend as if you don;t know much about the phone.

I know it's a waste of time, but hey do you want to spend $200 just to get the same phone when out of warranty?

Who is your wireless carrier? Don't pay for another phone. I can help you.

Just got back from apple store. I'm out of luck. Went there and the guy basically checked my phone and looked at my warranty and said you are out of warranty and it will cost you $260 to repair. Ridiculous..

I have ATT. How can you help me? I don't want to buy another phone or risk using my upgrade since I am waiting for the 6.
