There could be numerous reasons, a big one being cost of living compared to CA. Plus, living in Denver, we have the Rocky Mountains right in our back yard.

This is true and I am one of those transplants. I originally grew up in CA until my family moved out here when I was 10 years old.

Just a year or two ago, that 350K could have bought even more around here. At least you have the ocean nearby living on the coast; that is the one thing we are really missing out here.
