Exclamation Help: TENT RECOMMENDATION

Are there any campers on the board?

This saturday im going camping with a bunch of friends.
I was wondering what model of tent is good. im looking for a 2 or 3 person tent price range up to ~$200. Im all excited about this camping trip, and even though its my first one, i dont want to "get a cheap one and see if i like camping" cuz i always wanna be well-prepared and have a good quality product. And i intend on using he tent more than once.

Any recommendations? Thanks alot!

You probably don't have to spend that much for a good tent if the weather is not below freezing. I camp a lot and the most expensive tent I have bought has been around $60-100. If there is a Costco in your area go check out what they have they normally have some good tents for a good price.

You can also check out my sig of my other car I have a tent that I mount in the back of my truck its excellent for two people and you can just open it up on the ground like a cot. Have fun.

^^ what he said.
Unless you're camping on top of Mt. Everest you dont need to spend hundreds on a tent. Just get a weatherproof tent from Big 5 or the like stores. It should only cost about $60 or so.

woah. tent cot. very interesting way to avoid waking up in a puddle of water! it must be heavy and not very portable though. it also looks like it is a with a built in rain fly?

my main concern for a good tent is because i dont want to have to worry about even the hardest rain and storms. the weather says there is chances of thunderstorm the night im camping at the park.

Practice setting it up before you go...unless you'll be with an experienced tent-putter-upper (erector just sounds wrong).

You can figure it out when you get there, but it might be raining.

Motel 6 nearby? That's about as "roughing it" as I get any more.

Garage List
Off topic but if you hear rustling outside during the night, don't look out. I did that once and found myself looking at the south end of a northbound skunk from a distance of about five feet. I quickly retreated and the skunk went on its merry way unscented.
