This is true...
A few months ago, I was at the home depot return line. In front of me was a lady (I am being nice in my wording-only if you had seen her in person) who was returning 2 items. One of the item being an invisible light bulb .
Invisible in that she claimed the bulb was already broken from the store but she did not know that until she opened it at home. Well, she only kept the box and the receipt and said she threw away the broken light bulb. I thought that was shady because she could of at least bring back the broken light bulb. I mean it should not have been badly broken at the store to where she did not realized it was broken. Something make me think that the bulb was in perfect condition and she just made that claim to not pay for it. Surprisingly, the home depot guy at the registered did not challenge her and just gave her a refund back to credit card and he took the empty light bulb box. Wonder how he is going to explain that to his supervisor.

he probably assumed she was not stupid enough to risk fraud over a 99 cent lightbulb
personally it wouldn't even be worth my time to go back and return the fucking thing, only thing that would get me to is knowing i would get to drive there |

I believe it! I use to work for Bed, Bath, and Beyond at their Customer Service desk and their return policies were so ridiculously pathetic that they'll except merchandise that was purchased 2 years ago.
What's even worse is that there are low-lives out there who do this shit on a regular basis and all retail companies will do is accept the returned merchandise and that's it. Retail companies loose a lot of $$$ because of this crap. People came back to return an item that was worth no more then $1 and they demanded that they be credited back that $1 to their credit card. |

I think there a little more than that...but none the less you would spend it in gas driving over there and back even if it was like a 2$ bulb.

Yeah, once you work in retail, you seem some of the stupidest shit ever. If you think your stupid for messing up in installing a mod, wait untill you see all the dumbasses out there. It's incredible to know that some people don't have ANY common sense & are seriously dumb to the point that you want to slap some sense into them.
The clerk at home depot probably just didn't want to deal with her stupidity and issued a refund to save his own time.
