Won ebay auction at 55.1K for GT-R, Honda of San Marcos refusing to honor

you know, after all these cases against dealers selling on ebay, you would think that they would just not bother fighting it. because no matter how big or small, the dealer has ALWAYS lost. i'm sure there are more cases of dealers winning than losing, but every one of these cases that blows up all over the internet always results in the dealer's loss amid a gigantic PR nightmare. you would think that they would just write off the loss (even though i'm sure that there wasn't anything lost by the dealer except face in this case) and just ship the car.

These dealers probably are not even aware of the other stories. I would probably go as far to say that they think themselves bigger than the general public and therefore can get away with it.

Until things like this happen.

Damn...now whe should call for that douche to get fired!

I would be concerned on the status of the car though...would the dealership be malicious enough to fuck with the car before delivery? I hope not.

someone along the way knows what the fuck is up. that's all i'm saying. car salesmen read all the same blogs we do. most of them are into cars like the rest of us. i'm sure they see this kind of thing happening and tell someone on the inside a warning that it gets ugly. that's all i'm saying. this honda dealer caved pretty quickly actually. i'm sure it's just a more expensive fight they didn't want to enter.

Wow, this is funny. I just can't believe all this for 4K. This would have been much better if it was at least 10K difference.

Next time I'm up in San Marcos, I have to stop by that dealership and just look around and see how they are....then maybe ask about this...

I disagree, and I agree with ABQ. I've known car dealer managers and even some owners in the past that truly 100% think they're above it all and better than everyone.
You could tell by this guy Ian's reaction in general, the fact that he threatened to sue motor trend shows how inflated his ego is.
