Cool little functionality buried in the settings

When you reach over to the passenger side of the car the passenger map light illuminates to help you see whatever you might be reaching for.

For anyone wondering where this is in the settings - vehicle apps>interior lights>reading light>attentive light."

Ugh, no thank you. I had this in my S class and while great on paper it was distracting and annoying in practice.

Well, the good news is that it's defeatable.

I think I'll keep it engaged for now as it only works with the car at a stop.

I’ve enabled the feature. Quite like it when I’m preparing to exit the car and need something I left on the passenger seat. It doesn’t come on while driving.

I noticed that it also doesn't come on at full brightness. If you manually turn on that light by pressing the button in the ceiling console, the light is brighter. That's kind of nice, but I wonder if you can adjust the auto-brightness.

I seem to recall the option to turn the function on or off, but can’t recall if there was anything about Intensity. I’ll have to look now, hehe.

I think it's the same when you open the doors. In other words, when you open the doors at night to get in or out of the car, the interior lights come on, but more dimly than if you were to hit the buttons manually. Not sure why that is, but I'll take another look in the settings too.

Remember, to get to the interior lighting menu directly, we can just press the menu button in the ceiling console.

I looked earlier today as well, and couldn't find any setting to adjust brightness or duration. Only an on/off I think. That's fine with me, I don't always need it on bright, but it would be nice to be able to set it.
