i5 interior ambient light problem

I noticed my i5 interior ambient light colour selection won’t stick. I can set it, but the next time I drive it reverts to blue. Is this yet another problem from the new software? Anyone else seeing it? I’ll try rebooting tomorrow and see if it helps…

That would happen if you have your start-up driving mode set to Efficient. Make sure your start-up drive mode is set to personal, in case you haven't already checked that.

The startup mode is Personal, and rebooting iDrive didn’t help. Not sure what else to try…

Did you hold the volume button down for 70 seconds? Also make sure iDrive is on the right profile if you have more then one

This happened to me last week. My ambient is currently purple on personal. I would get in the car and it showed my ID, but made the lights blue and forgot my widgets. It knew all my other settings. This happened every time I go in the car. After 2 days, it returned to normal. I don’t have a clue why it happened.

Well, the ambient light is back to normal. Same thing -- two days of odd behaviour, and now it's fine.

I had the same problem today I know my ambient light setting was green I got in the car and it was blue changed it back that firmware is buggy

Picked up my car from the body shop today and it’s back to blue. Reset it. Drove to dinner tonight and it is blue again.

Main has not changed again try turning ambient lighting off and and do a full iDrive reboot then set the color again

I think the issue is that I was carrying the key fob. I left it at the body shop so it was with me when I drove home. When I use my phone or watch, it remembers me. It seems to get confused when there is a digital key and an actual key.
