Is this a good discount?
Ordering a 2025 xDrive40.
$5000 rebate for financing. $1000 rebate for recent graduate. $2500 rebate for dealer discount. My MSRP is roughly 75K or so. Is this a good value or should I negotiate for more? Thanks |

Did you negotiate from MSRP and then add the rebates or is the $2500 the negotiation?

Gotcha. I would say it’s pretty good. It’s somewhat comparable to what I’m getting from an MSRP of $80,295. I get Military instead of College Graduate. Also, I compared what I was getting for a final price to websites like Edmunds, TrueCar, and KBB. So, overall I think it’s good. I’m getting an edrive 40.

That's a horrible deal. 2.5k before incentives is bad. Aim for 5% off at least, with 9% being amazing.

Gotcha. How about this then? 6K off MSRP and 5K off with rebates and all-weather floor mats thrown in for a total of 11K off. It's 7.5% off MSRP before rebates. This is the best I could do negotiating with 3 dealerships in Houston/Dallas. What do you think? |

That sounds like a good deal overall.
My M60 deal was in California and it resulted in about a 12% discount ($92,400 to $82,500). The additional $1,500 loyalty credit pushed it to a 13% discount overall. |

I think it also depends on whether the car is built to order or in dealership’s lot. You will get more discount for cars they want to get rid of faster.

That's better. If you're getting an i5, look in to leasing it then buying out. MSRP discount is the same lease or finance, but BMW tends to give extra money for leasing. Just be aware that going through this route means you don't get as good APR as buying new (banks will typically consider it a used car transaction), and you'll have to deal with the DMV aspect of title transfer, unless you have a dealer that will do this for you.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am in no rush to buy so I might just wait close till the end of the quarter and see if I can get 9% off of MSRP. Otherwise, BMW of Grapevine was a pleasure to work with.

If you're not in a rush, consider using a broker like Auto Companion.
