Smile and wave
Today was Friday. I hadn’t driven for best part of a week due to a hectic schedule and staying in SF during the bonkers JP Morgan Healthcare conference for much of the week.
That being out of the way, I got to commute 26mile each way from a 5:30am start. Got to the office with 51% SOC and plugged into the free level 2 chargers and got to 90% and shut it offf by lunchtime. After morning meetings I drove some colleagues to a business lunch (lot’s of “what is this car?”, “is it a hybrid?”, and “nice!!!”). Back in the office I took care of duties until heading out by 5pm into Friday evening Bay Area traffic. Relishing in the overall sense of “thank F&*k it’s Friday” I cranked up some tunes (EDM vibe) on the B&W and enjoyed a relatively free flowing commute. Super comfortable, good vibes, no creaks, rattles or jolts. Slipping in and out of personal and sport mode I had a little fun passing traffic effortlessly with that really ridiculous/stupid-ass dual motor trick - it left a little smile on my face each and every time I did it. I got home feeling fresh, relaxed and enjoyed jousting with traffic and feeling the effortless power with plenty in reserve that I have with the M60. Things I did not consider during this time: - EV vs ICE - Plastic vs fabric lined door pockets - BMW i7’s - Teslas - Whether my range display was a work of fiction - That I wasn’t driving a wagon any more - That I didn’t have dynamic handling available when I placed my order back in June - What seats I chose - leather or veganza? - FSD - dammit *I* want to drive this thing - etc I just love this car. It’s the dogs bollocks, as they say where I’m from. Last edited by RichardInCA; 01-12-2024 at 10:49 PM.. |

Glad you’re enjoying it! I love driving mine, too. And yes, like you, I don’t consider any of those *other* things while driving it.
It’s only when I visit these forums and refresh that I’m reminded how little range I have and how foolish I was to buy as opposed to lease. lol |

I had a nice drive yesterday, too. It was 19 degrees outside, my dog in the backseat, listening to music. I wanted to see how fast the battery drained in the cold. It wasn’t bad. I got 2.2 miles per kWh. I love this car so much.

I couldn’t agree more with OP. My 2014 535 had the luxury seating package, felt lined doors, and dynamic handling and I haven’t spent one minute missing any of that since getting my m60 on Monday. Even the ride is way more compliant on the rough Philly winter roads. In addition, I’ve gotten so many people stopping me to say how great looking the car is and that they haven’t seen any on the road yet. Everyone is different and has their own personal expectations of what they want in a car, but for me, this has been the ideal car so far.
