Digital Rear Climate Control

What is required to get the LCD screen for the rear seats climate control? I can't find any information about what package is necessary. Will it be coming to the US? I've attached a photo of what I am talking about, as I know that there is a version that does not have an LCD screen.

Probably 4 zone climate control but I don’t recall seeing an option for this unless included with heated rear seats

I had to have my dealer request option 4NB. It was added to my build.

No, luxury seating is multi contour, ventilation, and heated front + rear seats.

It’s just empty storage space with the buttons for heated seats.

I called BMWNA and they said that both the M60 and the eDr40 comes standard to the USA with the Dual Zone Auto Climate Control with no option to upgrade to the 4 Zone Auto Climate Control.

Bummer.

If anyone has different information, please reply in detail.

spatel19 got the option added to theirs. Not sure if US though (their profile does say Chicago).

Yes I'm in the US. In IL. My CA had to get it approved by BMW NA. It was not available in the ordering system for the CA to add it directly.

This would be greatly appreciated! I plan to push for the option myself once I order after seeing/feeling the car in person.

It does sound like you can special request features not available on the configurator. I saw one of my local dealers having a Silverstone interior M60 coming in, but the color should not have been available for ordering.

Agreed! For some reason, I was under the impression that the rear digital controls were standard. Now my i5 is in "quality check" and I have my CA checking with BMW NA if it's possible to add (maybe port installed?). I know it's a long shot but I'd rather ask and be told no than regret not asking.

I'm so annoyed about the configuration disconnects and lack of clear information in the early going. I guess that's the risk of ordering early.

so i contacted my dealer about this and the rear digital controls are standard with the 4 zone climat (eu)

spatel19 do you remember how long it took your dealership to get the BMWNA’s approval?

BTW this post is a gem. I was super disappointed to learn that i5 in the US don’t have the digital rear climate control, and this post provides a solution!

Good Info! I wish I knew this before I locked in my order. I’m not sure what made me think it came bundled with the Executive Package. But when i took delivery, I noticed the controls weren’t back there. Just an open and close vent. Smh. And the virtual car viewer didn’t let you navigate the view to the rear to inspect every detail before ordering. But Ah well, lesson learned.

Also noticed the “M” logo is missing on the sides of the U.S. models. Both E40 and M60.
