Aftermarket wheels for i5 - range hit
New to the i5 (and 4 doors), coming from an M8 coupe. I’m trying to understand the range hit when switching to aftermarket wheels, HRE FF or Vossen HF. I’ve read about the variables, i.e., weight, aerodynamics, etc. Does anyone have real world intel they can share?

I haven’t seen anyone post on this forum with aftermarket wheels. It might be worth having look over the i4 forum and see whether there’s a comparison there? It might give a sense of what kind of range hit you might expect….although not exactly the i5 question you’re looking for.

I thought I saw a discussion about changing wheels, but not sure who actually did it.
Here is a link from another thread showing what appears to be non-stock wheels. Maybe that person could chime in with any range numbers they are seeing. https://g60.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=129

Here's another post regarding different wheels. They even ask for questions if you have them. Check it out.
