I have been doing this as well. It’s fun to preview the next version of the app and make a little pocket change. You get $30+ for each test and $5 for each bug found.

That said, so far I really have not had many serious issues. Yesterday, though, I turned on XM and then it would not let me select any other audio source until I rebooted iDrive. So…

Yes, part of testing is to remove your car and your BMW ID. My first test, I couldn’t get it set back up. I had to call the genius line and have them reset their data. It also messed up my eSIM because I am the primary phone.

This last time, I was getting the same weird errors, but I got into the car, deleted my BMW ID, rescanned it in and everything worked. My husband was pissed off that he had to reset his ID, but he is just a whiny baby.

Does this include the app, as well as early previews of software for the car?

No—not yet, at least, Q. It is principally the app, but also testing functions in the car. I’m not sure I’d want to have beta software installed in my car.
