From what I have read there is no real performance gain. If you want the option to drive 60 miles pure electric then there could be a benefit. I’d imagine with the extra weight it wouldn’t handle as well as the 540ix

I actually like having the electric range - most of my trips are in town. When I travel, I then have the gas engine backup.

I'm also waiting for a 550e touring.

in weekdays, i drive 20miles in the city. the EV/hybrid mode are great.
and i like the have AC on with pure battery. good for a lunch nap on the car.

in the weekend, i will have two day trips to countryside on pure gasoline.


PHEV is a perfect match, but it seems too good to be true?

Touring PHEV would be perfect, but not coming to us. Current 530e sedan is off lease in Feb. Hopefully be able to order replacement 550e by then.
