Hey guys,

Got my 530e yesterday, trying to setup a digital key on my Samsung S21+ and MyBMW app says "Device is not compatible". However, dealer said S21 should be OK.

Does anyone able to setup digital key on S21 series?

My S21U works fine. No problem pairing it or using it. I'd assume the S21+ would have the same capabilities.

Weird. I have an old S20 and it works just fine.

BMW is having some issues with the My BMW App so that may be why

Called to BMW and Samsung. Bad news for Poland: Samsung doesn't officially support Samsung Wallet here, hence functionality of BMW Digital Key or Digital Key Plus are not guaranteed. It may get configured on some devices while on some devices it won't work at all, even the same models. Even if phone has NFC/UWB that isn't sufficient. In Germany and some other countries, for example, Samsung officially support Samsung Wallet and so everything works fine.

Weird

They said only iPhone and Google Pixel smartphones officially support BMW Digital Key and/or BMW Digital Key Plus in Poland.

I do know the S21+ does not have UWB. That's the main reason I am getting a S24+ next week before my car gets here. You have to have UWB for the remote parking to work.

Retraction: I meant the S20+, not S21+. Sorry. Got confused there for a minute.

On my S21+ at least I have an option to toggle UWB on/off in Settings, not sure if that suggests I indeed have UWB no my phone or not.

However, like I said, I was on the phone with BMW and Samsung support today and both referred to Samsung Wallet as the pre-requisite for having Digital Key (NFC based) or Digital Key Plus (UWB based) on Samsung Galaxy smartphone. In Poland, Samsung do not support Samsung Wallet and neither myself not my wife can install it on neither my S21+ nor her S24+.

They offered me an option to switch to iPhone or Google Pixel I'm offered them to credit back for Professional Parking Assistance option purchased that allows to park/unpark the vehicle remotely which I can't use w/o having Digital Key Plus on my smartphone

I was wondering I'm a phone guy and I thought that the 21 supported ultra wide band it's been around for a while

I had to go from s20 to s24 when I got my Bimmer. Sucks but the digital key is very nice.

Sorry All. I meant the S20+ not the S21+ that does not have UWB. My Mistake. I have the S20+. I was going to get a new phone next week in SF, but then I found out the S25+ is coming out in Jan. I might just wait for it and not get a new phone now.

I ask because I just bought an S24 in late May. Now I'm waiting for my 24 I5 M60 to come off the stop sale so I can bring it home and everything I've read says the S24 does not have UMB.

I really don't want to go to a larger phone, and an iPhone is just not an option in my world. I'm the old guy that's been pissed since they quit supporting the old Motorola Razr...🙄

The S24 does not have UWB. The S24+ does. And I had 4 Motorola RAZRS.

I have a S24 Ultra. With a case it does not fit on charging tray. Check if the + is smaller.

S24+ with protective case on fits the charging tray, unless it is a huge military case that would protect a phone from falling from Mt. Everest
