Sitting here at the dealership waiting on my first oil change. They come to tell me the oil is nationally backordered. They can’t tell customers this until the car is dropped off. Yikes. Anyone else experience this?

This is a first. Are they saying that the BMW 0W-20 isn't available?

I was told I require 0-W12 and there is a national shortage. He also went on to say they were supposed to receive some today but did not have a time for deliver nor could he tell how much oil they would receive. That have a long list of customers to get to before me. Not happy right now.

Yeah, that’s amazing that something they use so frequently is not available. Sorry about that, but they definitely should have notified you before you made the trip to the dealership.

Agree with that comment. Why allow you to make and keep an appointment to drop of your car for an oil change they already know they can't perform.

Some people don't live close to the dealership. Here, it's about 20 min from my house. But if I was living back in Bremerton, it would be over an hour away, and I would have to take a ferry to get there.

Hmmm. Maybe I'll call the dealer before I go to see if they actually have the oil in stock.
