Yes!! Why did I just imagine the Star Trek sound when the warp core mains are brought back online?

I don’t agree with Marine Traffic’s assessment. Midnight is probably the correct time considering they’re likely being towed or taxied.

That type of vessel wouldn’t be towed. They’ll typically be under their own power. Now, when they hit the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, I think a pilot comes on board.

Wish my grandfather was still around to ask, as he use to be the Captain of a Cargo Vessel. 😊

She’s about 15 minutes from the terminal now though.

Check the tides. They usually try to make the tides work in their favor. So pulling in they want the tide to push them towards the dock. And leaving they want the tide to pull them away from the dock.

I watched the whole thing. They were definitely under their own navigation until the very end.

Was interesting! As the Polaris Highway got to the mouth of inlet by Sparrows Point, a high speed pilot boat, the Fells Point, came along side, and the pilot boarded the Polaris.

In the distance two tugs, the Lynne Moran and Paul T Moran, waited for the Polaris to close. They then came along side.

It was still under its own power until it got inside the docking area. It sailed past a RoRo of Korean Hyundai junk, and then the tugs took over and turned it and pushed it against the dock. My 5’er is about to be on U.S. soil 😅

Cool. About time your car got to the US Todd. Too bad you can't get the GPS locator in the car to turn on so you can watch it trek on a car carrier or train to Ohio. But that would only have you camping out at the dealers front door like it was a Black Friday DoorBuster. I hope you get it by Xmas, but probably definitely by New Years.

Well, flipped back to “At the Port” by 9am. Hoping the VPC isn’t backlogged or the drug sniffing U.S. Customs dogs don’t get a false positive on it lol 😂

Since you are squeezing every last bit of entertainment out of this delivery tracking, how about you write up how to do it so that others have a handy reference instead of having to go on a voyage of rediscovery? Put everything in the first post, and you can go back and edit and update it based on feedback posts, and maybe it can be marked a sticky.

I think there are already such guides available on the forum, but I might consider it. I am the original creator of this specific thread, from June 17th, 2024. It seems to have become a catch all for everyone’s episodic BMW experience over the last 6 months. It’s interesting to see how much it’s grown.

Todd, all of us who have followed your thread will be very happy when you finally get your new baby. I am expecting many pictures of the inside and outside, and of all the accessories you already have once you have the car and get everything installed and set up just the way you like. It won't be long now!

I hope they get Todd's and any other of our Bimmerpost friend's cars off with all the best care but the rest they can just toss em off and let the stevedores figure it out.

I need this boat to get to Brunswick!

I've lined up my nephew to help me with some of the pictures. He's got quite the eye for automotive photography and has had a number of his photos of the Chevy Cruise (his car) featured by General Motors.

Here's some of his work below. I was thinking I should specifically do some shots of what '4NB' does for the G60 when you go through BMW Individual. Everyone seems to have some curiosity about that one.

I told them to just start dumping the dealer inventory ones wherever they please. On the dock, to the right of the dock, whatever it took to get underway to Georgia!

ToddRGuy Pics please when you finally take delivery. I think you will really like the Carbon Black. I test drove a 550e last week in CBM and it’s a great color. In the light it’s a dark blue, in the shadows it’s black. I was very tempted by the car as much because of the color as how it drives. I’m a fan of BMW blues and always considered CBM too dark. It’s not, just a beautiful color. Hopefully won’t have to wait too long for sun this time of year up there in Ohio 😉

Hehe happy to provide pics! This will be my first foray into what I assume will be a high maintenance color in quite awhile (Audi is glacier white & Acura was grey) but I’m ready for the challenge. It’ll go a bit easier due to the ceramic coating and PPF, I hope.

Sun? What is this sun you speak of? 😄
