If the car charges fine in charge immediately mode, then it’s something to do with a setting somewhere in the charging window mode. Make sure you didn’t sign up for the Charge Forward program in the myBMW app charging section, as that can mess up scheduling.

And/or turning off the scheduling and just letting it run a complete charge with the Tesla charger? If either or both of those work, then the issue is somehow related to the time window scheduling.

Call EA. Dealer has no involvement on why you were charged. If you simply plugged in like you would with plug and charge, then that’s an EA issue. Not BMW. BMW doesn’t authorize the charging on the screen.

I have called EA in the past. I guess I have to call them again. I noticed last time I had a $20 hit to my my Amex on my phone when I started charging, then saw I was charged zero on the EA charger screen. Time before that I was charged, just strange to me, and I have to be more mindful of seeing the screen after I charge.

As far as home charging I have resorted to checking the BMW app that acknowledges charging will proceed at the scheduled time.

Still having CarPlay issues. My updated 14 pro max doesn't seem to play well with this car. Was told to delete the device from the car and the car from the phone and repair. Especially after any update to the phone firmware.

Still would like to know why the car changes from radio to my phone if scrolling sites on my phone while parked and listening to the radio. Also when I try to take a video the audio on the car radio mutes while trying to record CarPlay not working. When using the hand gestures and it fast forward doesn't work neither does the hard keys on the console. I have choose Spotify on the screen and press the screens fast forward arrow to get the next song to play.
Like I said really finicky to me.

The car will switch audio source and play audio from the phone over the vehicle if you are on a website. It’s normal. You may need to silence your phone if you’re listening to radio and scrolling websites.

I also have an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I don’t have any specific issues with the phone. I don’t particularly like it when the phone takes over when I get a text, a Microsoft Teams message, etc. The answer is to uncheck CarPlay.

By unchecking CarPlay would that disable me from using Waze ? If so that is a hard no for me.

Also once again hand gestures wouldn't work again while using spotify to forward a song, and neither did the console buttons function. I shot a video of it to service and got a message back acknowledging my video. "I'm sorry, it must be very frustrating. I wish I had a solution for you."
So there's that. Not taking a shot at him but now what do I do ?

Yes, Waze would be disabled. BMW chose to integrate CarPlay and Android Auto rather than contract with every app developer. They might not have picked Waze in that case. I prefer the Car Play integration so I can choose my own apps rather than have BMW tell me what I can use.
