True, but the answer is simply no. Software updates can only be performed under warranty when you have a warrantable defect that requires programming. Anything else is simply on the dealers dime. Techs like to get paid so nobody is doing this for free. Case by case basis depending on your relationship with dealer and management but very unlikely they will update you without a real reason.
