Well, it was certainly my pick after 2 years of looking and test driving various EVs.

It’s interesting to note in the article about every BMW exceeding the EPA range which is based on battery size. The wound rotor synchronous motor works differently, as it turns off the magnets during coasting. Take your foot off the accelerator and the magnet disengages which adds to the efficiency. Instead of a calculated 35kWh/100 miles, it gets 28.7kWh/100 miles. This proved true in all the BMWs they tested.
