The FIA decided to show the new 2026 model car early in the morning to demonstrate their work on the regulations.
This is already the 9th version of the regulations and more detailed shots of it were leaked a week ago.
There are not many conceptual changes. One interesting thing is that large winglets appeared on the end plates of the front wing, which perhaps devalues the narrower central plane of the wing (1-2 photos). After all, in fact, due to the 2 planes behind the end plates, we have a continuation of the wing, only without active elements. At the same time, they can become even larger in size (3 photos). The teeth on the lower plane, which were planned to puncture the tires of rivals, have disappeared. Now the FIA model has a very thick nose (4 photos), but teams will probably not use this, resorting to a narrower version (5 photos). The new wing should increase the pressure on the front axle compared to the previous model.
On the front edge of the floor, in addition to the external deflector, there will be 5 guides instead of 4 (4 photos). The central part of the bottom has become even flatter, due to the fact that the two-story floor has disappeared (6-7 photos). Previously, the floor was elevated under the pontoons. Now, the absolutely flat bottom, with the exception of a small diffuser, will create even less pressure. There is still room for fantasy above the side edge of the floor.
The rear wing has received a recess toward the center, and at the same time the silhouette itself has become even smaller (7-8 photos).
