Update: I am asking because mine will not under any circumstances charge this way. Verified by dealer who said BMW engineers said it is due a needed software update not available until "sometime" in December, and that is not guaranteed to fix it.
Not to mention the other various random issues playing this POS.
I would like to present to dealer and BMW responses that it is not all cars.
